3780 –  Welcoming Woods Acrylic on Canvas 20 x 16 inches PRIVATE COMMISSION Welcoming Woods was commissioned by the children of a friend as a birthday gift for her. When asked what she would like in a painting, she told them she wanted Trees and Roots. Inspired by a hike on Whiskey Rapids Trail in Algonquin Park, Ontario, I added the Raven flying down the path in the distance to guide the viewer into the forest. The Raven brings with him the ability to bend time and space for the perfect moment at the right time. He signifies rebirth, renewal, reflection and healing.
